He leaves a family. The funeral at Mitchell will be in charge of the Masons and the Grand Army, Wednesday. Brownstown Banner: Elias Milford Alter was born in Allegheney co., Pa., Sept. 21, 1843. He was a member of a family of 9 children, 5 daughters and 4 sons. His father removed to Indiana during the construction of the old O&M railroad, and settled at Fort Ritner. Deceased served his country in the War of the Rebellion as a member of Co. G, 66th Ind. Volunteers. He married Miss Sadie Poole, Sept. 26, 1878, to which union 3 children were born, of whom 2 daughters, along with his wife, survive. Interment in Heighton Hill cemetery.
