Bickley 7 June 1841 – 12 June 1926 Bickley – Jacob H. Bickley died at his home in Brownstown Saturday, June 12, aged 85 years and 5 days. Deceased was born at West Brookfield, Ohio, June 7, 1841. He was a veteran of the civil war from 1861 to 1865 and served as a private in Company A, 13th Regiment, Ohio Infantry. Before moving to Brownstown he resided at Freetown for thirty-nine years. He was married four times, three of his wives having preceded him to the grave. He united with the Christian church at Surprise during the pastorate of Rev. Hawn. He also served as trustee of the Freetown Christian church. Besides his widow he leaves six children: William H., of Burnsville, Ind., Myrtle Iva Shannon, of California; Dewey L., Eunice Wilcox, Dora Stanton, all of Indianapolis, and Harvey T. Bickley; thirteen grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, also seven step-children. Short services were held at the residence at 12:30 Monday afternoon followed by services at the Freetown Christian church, the Rev. John M. Cross officiating. Burial in the Freetown cemetery.
