Obituary from the Brownstown Banner, published 30 March 1927

 

            Cordill—John Cordill, a well-known Pershing township farmer, died 
at his home north of Freetown Monday night, age 75 years. He had been sick 
with influenza for about two weeks.

                Mr. Cordill was born at Waymansville but for the past thirty-
eight years had resided on the farm where he died.

                Besides his widow he leaves three sons, Fred and Cyrus, at 
home; James, of Seymour; one daughter, Mrs. Lura Wayt, of Morgantown, Ind, and 
several grandchildren.

                Funeral services will be held Thursday morning followed by 
burial in the Lutes cemetery.

Note: Waymansville is an unincorporated town in Bartholomew County

Note: Salt Creek Twp was divided in 1919 and the eastern half became Pershing 
Twp
