He was born in Washington county, Dec. 20, 1849, to J. M. and Angeline Dorsey, his father passing away when he was quite young. He was married to Prudence Goodpasture in the spring of 1874, two children being born to this union, one dying in infancy, the daughter LuLu being born in 1876. At the age of 18 she was married to Edward Cavanaugh. The mother died in the fall of 1878. In the year 1887 he was married to Miss Sarah E. Holmes, of Medora, Jackson county, and to this union three children were born, a daughter Angie, son Burrell and daughter, Effie Claire, the last named having died in infancy. He leaves to mourn their loss his wife, two children, Angie and Burrell, two nephews, Frank and George Dorsey, and eleven grandchildren. Impressive funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the church by Rev.
