Brownstown Banner, Wednesday 16 June 1926
Richards – Everett Richards, aged 65, formerly of Jackson county, died at his 
home near Edinburg, Friday morning after an illness of three months of a 
complication of diseases.

            Mr. Richards was the son of Joel and Catherine Richards and was 
born in Hamilton township, where he resided until eight years ago when he 
moved to Johnson county. Surviving besides the widow is one son, Ewing, and 
two grandchildren at home; three brothers, William, of Amity; Ellsworth, of 
Nebraska, and Dr. Hayden Richards, of Vincennes, and two sisters, Mrs. Mary 
Marshall and Mrs. Hettie Gowdy, both of Arkansas.

            He was a member of the Cortland Knights of Pythias lodge. Funeral 
services were conducted at the Cortland church Sunday afternoon at 2 o’clock, 
the Rev J. H. Horton officiating. Burial in the Robertson cemetery.
