M. Lutes, at the age of 79 years, 8 months, and 2 days. She was the daughter of Robert and Catherine Clark. On March 4, 1867, she was married to Andrew T. Thompson, who preceded her to the grave July 6, 1919. To this union were born four children, one of whom died in infancy. Surviving her are two sons and one daughter, Sheridan, of Cortland, Robert, of Houston, and Mrs. Jane Lutes of Houston. She also leaves ten grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, one brother, Robert Clark, of Colorado; and two sisters, Mrs. Lydia Whitehorn, and Jane Clark, both of Jerico Springs, Mo. She united with the Christian church at Buffalo in her early life and continued in the Christian faith all the rest of her life. It was this faith and confidence which was especially manifested during her long period of sickness and suffering. She was a true mother in her devotion to her children and in service to her family. Funeral services were conducted on Saturday, January 14, at the Houston Christian church, by the Rev. T. J. Due, of Seymour. Houston, Salt Creek Township News Joseph Lutes of Indianapolis, Mr. and Mrs. James Hedden of Bedford and Lillian Lutes of Brownstown, who were called home on account of the death of their grandmother, Mrs. Leah Thompson, returned home Sunday.
