        Rev. Virgil Thompson, 76, retired Methodist minister, died in his sleep
about 3 a.m. Friday at his home in Fletcher. He had suffered a heart attack 11
years ago and since that time has been in failing health.
	Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in the Fletcher Methodist church.
Rev. I.D. Vayhinger of Cedarville, a member of the same graduating class as that
of Rev. Thompson in Moore’s Hill college, Ind., will officiate. The burial will
be in the Fletcher cemetery. Friends may call at the Suber funeral home from
Saturday noon until time of service.
	Rev. Thompson, native of Scottsburg, Ind., was born Jan. 29, 1874, son of
Asbury and Elizabeth Thompson, and had been a resident of Fletcher approximately
11 years. He was admitted to the Methodist conference in Colorado in 1896. He
took up the study of medicine and graduated in 1901 from the University of
Medicine in Denver, Colo., remaining in the ministry while attending college. He
practiced medicine in Denver from 1901 until 1911. He was also graduated from
Moore’s Hill college, Moore’s Hill, Ind., in 1896 and from 1911 to 1938 was in
the ministry in Indiana and Illinois. He was a member of Charity lodge, F. & A.
M., Washington, Ind., and the Fletcher Methodist church.
	Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Fressa Price Thompson, and two sons, Price of
Piqua and Robert of Akron; two grandchildren, Robert D. and Joseph.
