Ritner, were killed by a train at Mitchell last Friday evening. They had gone to Mitchell to negotiate a timber deal with the band saw mill and were walking down the Monon track to the mill. At the place where they met their death there are several tracks. They saw a train coming down one track and stepped aside to let it pass and stepped in front of another cut of cars on another track. They were caught under the engine and both bodies were badly mangled. The remains were brought to Ft. Ritner Saturday morning and taken to their homes where the funerals were held Sunday afternoon. Both were wealthy and prominent men and are well known in the south western part of this county. Both are survived by families.
