NORTH VERNON.

A town in Jennings county, at the crossing of the Ohio & Mississippi and the
Madison branch of the Jeffersonville, Madison & Indianapolis railroads, two
miles from Vernon, the county seat, seventy-three from Cincinnati, and sixty-one
from Indianapolis. It has several churches, good schools, two large furniture
factories; a brewery, one weekly newspaper, &c. 
Population about 1,400.
