They were married Oct 19, 1882 by Rev Hart. Their children are: 1. Effie Bell Farris born Dec 3, 1883 2. James David Farris born Feby 1, 1886 3. Norman Elizabeth Farris born Apr 19, 1888 4. Homer Edgar Farris born Jany 25, 1891 5. Esther Mae Farris born Dec 24, 1897 6. Francis Isaac Farris born July 26, 1904 1. Effie Bell married John Thomas Burkett of Patoka on Nov 25, 1904. He was born Apr 1, 1870 & died Nov 8, 1920. No issue. 2. James David married Fairy Kahre of Vincennes, Ind & lives near the old home & farms for his Aunt Hattie Williams. They were married Dec 5, 1917. She was born Aug 9, 1894 & have children: 1. Paul Leonard Farris born Nov 8, 1919, 2. Dorothy Frances Farris born July 7, 1921. 3. Norma E. married Walter Morrison on Feby 13, 1917. He is mail carrier on the Rural Route. No issue. 4. Homer E. Haven't seen him for 5 yrs. Has been in the Army for 10 yrs & is now Sargeant & has only been home once & don't know whether he is married or not. He was at Honolulu when last heard from. Has been there about 7 5. Esther Mae is Unmarried & works as a telelphone operator along with her sister. Norma Morrison lives at home, but is working this evening. She either runs the telegraph or telephone office. 6. Frances Isaac. Mrs Farris says when the man was at her Father's asking about the maiden name of his grandmother, that her Aunt Minerva Pea was living & they said they were trying to get some money that was coming. It is now 5:05 PM Coming out of Patoka which we left at 5:11 Pm, we passed on the right, big 2 high 2 stories house on an elevation among trees & next to it also on the right & the last house, a fine residence with colonial columns in front. Arthur Richardville, my chauffeur of the past three days, said his father's name was William & his grandfather, Paul Richardville, & he drove round by his father home (he is 65) to show it to me & where his grandfather Paul was born. He said a younger brother of his grandfather, Toussaint Richardville now away up in the 90's was the oldest man in Vincennes & he showed me his one story home as we entered the French section coming in.
