George Wilcher, with his two children, John and Ella, were residents of Vincennes, Ind., twenty-five years ago, where he died and the children separated, Miss Ella going to Carmi. They became negligent about writing to each other and finally lost track of one another entirely. Eighty years ago John Wilcher applied for a pension, their father having served in the Sixth Indiana infantry. In this he was not successful, but the fact developed that his sister, Ella, died at Carmi some twelve years previous, and was taken to Mount Carmel for burial. A few days ago John Wilcher received a letter from his sister, Ella. She is the wife of J. E. Oney, a saloonist, of Peoria, and lives at 1621 North Adams street, in that city. In her letter to her brother she said she married Oney four years ago, and that he had often urged her to write to her relatives and see if they were still living. The mystery to solve now is, who was the woman buried at Mount Carmel as Miss Ella Wilcher? Mrs. Oney's relatives are delighted to hear from her and visits will soon be exchanged betweent them.
