On October 9, 1867 she was married to Theodore Buckaleu, but the happiness of this union was brief, for death soon entered the home, leaving the young mother and infant son, George, to mourn. Mrs Buckaleu was married to James Kyle on March 31 1870, and their home was blest by eight children, four of whom were awaiting their mother's coming other the other shore --Jimmmie and Margaret having died in infancy. John at the age of sixteen and Louis who was called away in the prime of young manhood. The children who are left to grieve the loss of a loving mother are: Mr George Buckaleu of Emison, Ind., Mrs Austin Welty of Hicksville,Ohio, W.T. Kyle and Edward Kyle of Bruceville, Ind. and Mrs Dalton Phipps of Detroit; and the following grandchildren, Harold, Edith, Marion, Ruth Ralph and Billie Kyle, and Robert and Sally Welty. Mr. Kyle, the father, was called home 1895, and after the children had all left the old home for their own. Mrs Kyle spent the last years of her life in visiting among them, and found a hearty welcome in five good homes. "Grandma Kyle" or "Aunt Liz",as she was lovingly called by those who know her best, was a ever-helpful neighbor, and devoted mother and fond grandmother. Her friends were many in Knox County, Ind., where she enjoyed visiting in the summer, and also at Detroit and Hicksville, where she spent many pleasant winters. Of her it can we be said, "None knew her but to love her." She was a faithful member of the Upper Indiana Presbyterian church and will be sadly missed in that community. Her last hours were spent in the home of her daughter at Hicksville, Ohio, from which she, peacefully departed for the home where sorrow never comes and goodbyes are never spoken. " We cannot feel that thou art far. Since near at need the angels are; And when the sunset gates unbar. Shall we not see thee waiting stand, And white against the evening stare. The welcome O thy beckoning hand?" Additional Comments: Buckaleu should be spelled Buckalew. Elizabeth is buried at the Upper Indiana Presbyterian Church Cemetery near Vincennes, Knox, IN next to her husband, James Kyle.
