Milford Mail 28 Jul 1938
Benjamin F. Gardner, 78, farmer, died Wednesday evening, July 20, at his home 
near Nappanee.  He had been ill a year.  He was born 22 Sep 1859 at Syracuse, 
he was a son of Fanellon and Maggert Gardner.  He married Hannah Beach of 
Millwood, near Nappanee, on 2 Feb 1890.  He had lived for 48 years in his 
present home.  Surviving are his wife, Hannah and children, Leroy of Los 
Angeles and William of Monte, Calif, Mrs. Laura Konrad, Mrs. Josephine Wilson, 
James Gardner of Nappanee, Mrs. Mary Orn, John Gardner of Milford, Mrs. Susie 
Peters, Elkhart and Charles of Knox, three brothers and a sister and 28 
grandchildren.  Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at Hepton church.  
Burial in the church cemetery.
