On January 12, 1882 he was united in marriage with Margaret J. Mull. To this union were born five children, two daughters Mary Elizabeth and Dora May preceding their father in death. He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Guy Pinkerton of Milford, two sons, Grover Hepler of Nappanee and Edward Hepler of Chicago, Ill., three grandchildren, Raymond and Glen Pinkerton of Milford and Gladys Hepler of Nappanee; one great grand daughter Catherine Louise Pinkerton of Milford; also two sisters, Mrs. Hugh Callander of Rensselaer and Mrs. Levi Deisch of Nappanee. For the last thirty years brother Hepler lived in Milford. He attended the Grace Brethren Church in Milford regularly up until a few years ago when because of the helplessness of his afflicted mother, he considered it a duty to care for his mother and the home. He was a kind loving father one who provided well for his children and home. He was good to his mother and children. He was the constant companion of his only love and beloved wife Margaret who preceded him in death forty years ago. He was true to his trust. No one will really know the suffering he patiently endured. He did very little complaining. Nevertheless, his illness was one of intense suffering. But rather than cause others anxiety he endured his suffering until Saturday, Oct. 18, he was given sweet release and is now enjoying rest. His life was seventy two years and nineteen days.
