In the year 1852 she was united in holy wedlock to Solomon Hapler and was ever true to her marriage vow. To them were born seven children, four preceding her in death. It is very fitting to say that Mrs. Hepler was a remarkable mother, as she built a home worth while in a new and developing country. Her children who survive are, Andrew Hepler, Milford; Mrs. Hugh Calander, Rensselaer and Mrs. Levi Deisch, Nappanee. She was also the grandmother of 35 children and the great-grandmother of 50 children and the great-great-grandmother of seven. Two sisters Mrs. Wm. Longacker and Mrs. Cathryn Strieby are also living at this time. The family call her blessed, and who among her vast circle of friends would dare to say anything else than that she was a great Christian. She grew old in a beautiful way. It was like the glow of a setting sun and all of a mother's glory is due her. Her love won the victory. Earthly crowns fade, but the crown of love fadeth not away. The secret of her true greatness was that she was a Christian. Her life was 91 years, 6 months and 24 days. Her husband, Solomon Hepler preceded her in death by 21 years. Her life was long but what a life of praise this must have been, and now her praise has increased. Her prayers, her faith and her faithfulness, should ever be a precious memory and a source of great encouragement to all that knew her. Who knows the number of prayers she offered in her days of age and infirmities? God heard them all. Mother: What a dear name that is. Christian Mother; how that increased the greatness; faithful unto death, how supremely comforting it is. We cannot say, and will not say that she is dead, She is just away, She has wandered into the unknown land And left us dreaming how very fair, It needs must be, since she lingers there. Think of her still, as the same we say, She is not dead, She is just away. - Card of Thanks - We desire to express our most hearty thanks to all those who so kindly assisted during the final illness and death of our dear mother, and to those who so thoughtfully supplied the beautiful flowers and also to those who helped in singing and in other ways and to many others whose kindly helpfulness was so generously given, our most hearty thanks are hereby extended.
