He had been a sufferer for a year or more from liver trouble. A postmortem examination was held by Dr. Merle, of Millwood, assisted by Drs. Yonkman and Wahl, of Bremen, and is as follows: We found the liver a hiterogenous mass of abcesses and tubereles, increased in weight to perhaps three times that of its normal weight. The gall duct was completely closed by adhesion, and the gall sack was empty except one gall stone. The presumption is that the passage of numerous gall stones caused irritation of the gall duct, so much so that after all the gall stones had passed except the one remaining, the gall duct collapsed and produced the adhesion. All the other organs, such as the pancreas, kidneys, heart, and lungs, were in a normal state, except as they were changed somewhat from sympathy with each other. The spleen was very much dilated. The accumulation of water, remaining in the body after death, was about eight gallons.
