Young of Milford passed away at her home here Monday afternoon about 1 o'clock, of cancer, following an illness of many months. She was the daughter of William and Anna McDonald and was born in Milford, June 24, 1871. In March, 1913, she was united in marriage to Forrest J. Young, a prominent physician of Milford, and since that time they have made their home on North Main street. About eighteen months ago Mrs. Young submitted to her first operation, after which time she showed some improvement. Last fall she began failing again and later was taken to Fort Wayne where a series of radium treatments were administered, and in April it became necessary to perform the second operation which was done at the Fort Wayne hospital. After a short time she was returned to her home where she gradually grew weaker until her death. She became a member of the Grace Brethren church many years ago and was taken into this church by Rev. B. T. Burnworth. She was a faithful member and had always been an active church worker. Mrs. Young, without any exceptions, was the greatest musciian Milford ever possessed, and perhaps one of the best in this section of the country. She was a pianist of exceptional talent and unmatched ability. She had spent the greater part of her life in perfecting her musical education and for a number of years gave lessons on the piano. She began her musical career when but a young girl and always remained a great lover of music. Surviving the deceased are, her husband, an adopted daughter, Frances Josephine age 5 years; her mother Mrs. William McDonald and one brother C. W. McDonald all of Milford. The funeral services were held at the home Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock, Rev. B. T. Burnworth officiating. Burial was made in the Milford cemetery.
