CROWN POINT.
The county seat of Lake county, on the Columbus, Chicago & Indiana Central
railroad, forty-one miles from Chicago. It is situated in a good agricultural
region and is increasing rapidly in wealth and population. Its inhabitants now
number nearly 1,000, and it contains four churches, three schools, various
societies and orders, with the usual number of stores, shops, etc.
