Lake Co., IN Obit ADELBERT PERRY THOMPSON, youngest son of AMOS P. and CELESTA THOMPSON was born at Creston, Ind., Nov. 2, 1892. He died at his home in East Chicago Aug. 24, 1917, aged 24 years, 9 months and 22 days. Everything was done that could be done for his relief but to no avail. The inevitable came and BERT is with us no more. His death came as a result of a complication of diseases, headed by typhoid fever. BERT was united in marriage to MISS MARY CEIGA on Feb. 1, 1912, and to this union two children were born, EVELYN and HELEN. BERT, as we all knew him and were pleased to call him, was well thought of by everybody and leaves an enviable heritage of honesty, industry and unselfishness. His boyhood companions speak of him in the highest terms. For the past five years he was employed in the offices of the Inland Steel Co., at which place of employment he had worked himself up through industry and competency to a position that required ability. His superiors and subordinates speak of him with words of praise, both as an employee and fellow workman. His love of the infinite was often manifested in the songs that he loved to sing, together with his wife. He leaves to mourn his demise, a wife, two daughters, his father and mother, two brothers, CHARLES F. THOMPSON, of Lowell and IRVIN J. THOMPSON, of Buck Creek, Ind., three sisters, MRS. ELLA MERRIMAN, of Bangor, Mich., MRS. ALICE LLOYD, of Lowell and MRS. MARY HILL, of Chicago, together with a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held at the home of his parents MR. and MRS. AMOS THOMPSON Monday at 1:30pm., and there was a large crowd of sorrowing relatives and friends in attendance. REV. J. J. SIMPSON preached the funeral sermon. MRS. J. W. BELSHAW and MRS. E. (?) HAYHURST, with MISS VIOLET VIANT... accompanist, furnished the music. The following acted as pall bearers: OLIVER PALMER, FOREST RAGON, CLAIRE PALMER, CECIL PALMER, GEORGE CEIGA AND HERBERT LLOYD. Interment was made in the Lowell cemetery. Undertaker WEAVER had charge of the burial service. Many relatives from out of town attended the funeral. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- USGENWEB NOTICE: These electronic pages may NOT be reproduced in any format for profit or presentation by other organization or persons.
