                           James Burke

Obit Located in The Times 29 Dec. 1946 in Hammond In
James Burke, 91, of 1017 144 th street, East Chicago, died early 
yesterday morning at his home. Funeral services will be held at 
2:30 p. m. tomorrow from the Fife funeral home, 706 W. Chicago 
avenue, with the Rev. George M. Gillespie officiating. Burial 
will be in Elmwood cemetery.
He was born Oct. 7, 1854 in Elyria, Ohio, and has been a resident 
of East Chicago for the past 28 years and a resident of Lake county 
for 40 years. His wife died two years ago. Burke is survived by five 
daughters, Mrs. Clara Trimble, with whom he made his home for the 
past 19 years, Mrs. Lillie Goyings of Berkley, Mich., Mrs. Rose 
Wilkinson of Hammond; Mrs. Della Schmoker of Whiting and Miss Emma 
Burke of Fort Wayne; 17 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 
three great great grandchildren.
