Andrew Chernota, 2543 New York Ave., Whiting, died Wednesday in
St. Catherine's Hospital, East Chicago.  He was a resident of
Whiting for the past 60 years and was retired from Youngstown
Sheet & Tube Co., where he worked for 24 years.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 3 p.m. in the Baran
Funeral Home, 1235 119th St., Whiting, with the Rev. Edward
Homco officiating.  Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery,
Hammond.
Surviving him are his widow, Emma, and three sisters, Mrs. Mary
Strabavy, Mrs. Paul Holicky and Mrs. Therese Ruman, all of Whiting.
