FUNERAL OF FRED W. FRANZEN HELD TUESDAY MORNING

THE FUNERAL OF FRED W. FRANZEN WAS HELD TUESDAY MORNING FROM ST. BRIDGET'S CATHOLIC CHURCH, 
REV. FR. STEGER OFFICIATING. BURIAL WAS IN CALVERY CEMETERY.

MR. FRANZEN WAS BORN IN HOBART TOWNSHIP ON DEC.12, 1850, AND WAS 66 YEARS OF AGE ON HIS LAST 
BIRTHDAY. HE HAD RESIDED IN HOBART ALL HIS LIFE. FOR THE PAST YEAR OR MORE HE HAD BEEN IN 
POOR HEALTH, AND WHILE HE WAS APPARENTLY IN GOOD HEALTH HE WAS WEAK AND SHORT OF BREATH. HE 
WAS WEAK AND A SHORT WALK WOULD TIRE HIM OUT.

LAST SATURDAY EVENING HE ATTENDED CHURCH AND WHILE ON HIS WAY HOME ABOUT 8:30 WHEN NEAR FRED 
BLACK STORE ON MAIN STREET, HE SANK TO THE SIDEWALK AND EXPIRED ALMOST INSTANTLY. PRESUMABLY 
FROM A WAEKENED HEART.

MR. FRANZEN IS SURVIVED BY ONE SISTER MRS. MARGARET MELLON AND TWO BROTHERS JOHN AND ADAM 
FRANZEN.
