He is survived by his wife of 56 years; children; brother; sisters; 20 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents, Slavko and Gizzel Klemoff and three grandchildren, Charlie, Rachel and Danny. Funeral services will be held Monday, June 11, 2001 at 10:00 a.m. at the chapel of Stilinovich & Wiatrolick Funeral Home, 7539 Taft St. (RT. 55) Merrillville, IN, with Fr. Unavailable officiating. Visitation will be Sunday, June 10, 2001 from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the chapel. American Legion Post #66 will hold a service at 7:30 p.m. Kero was a member of the American Legion Post #66, Griffith, IN, U.S. Steel retiree club, Local 81 Construction workers. Kero was born and raised in Gary and Ross area, until moving to Griffith in 1940 where the family farmed. Following school he worked for a starter co. in Gary for a short time before joining U.S. Steel. He retired in 1967 as a Reckoner. He was a WWII Veteran. After retirement Kero entered the construction busness for 12 years, working for Hasse Construction Co. and Superior Construction Co. He followed his second retirement by making lawn furniture in his home shop. Kero loved fishing and gardening in his spare time.
