Walter J- age 94 of Hammond, Indiana passed away Monday, October 24, 1988. Survivors: wife, Marie: one son, Wayne (Melissa) Pecher of Schererville: four daughters, Elaine Oglesby of Hammond, Marcella (Don) Babcock of Hammond. Corinne Mahns of Hammond and Walda (William) Dryer of Cedar Creek, Texaas: seventeen grandchildren; twenty five great grandchildren; two sisters, Irene Hughes of aurora, Illinois and Ruth Jacobson of Evergree Park, Illinois. Preceded in death by her granddaughter, Kelli Fannin. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 26 at 9:30 a.m. at the Solan Funeral Home with Rev. Grace Free officiating. Burial will be at Elmwood Cemetery in Hammond. Friends may call at the Solan Funeral Home, 7109 Calumet Ave., Hammond on Tuesday from 6 to 9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Shriner's Crippled Children's Hospital in his memory.
