Lake Co. IN Obit Mrs. E. E. RAGON Death came quietly late Wednesday morning to HENRIETTA PALMER RAGON, widow of ELMER RAGON and member of a pioneer family in southern Lake county. Aged 88, she died after years of frail health in the home shared with her son and daughter-in-law, MR. and MRS. CHANDOS RAGON at 803 North Grant. Daughter of ADELBERT and MARIETTA PALMER and great great granddaughter of OBADIAH TAYLOR, Lake county's only Revolutionary War soldier, she was born on a farm near Creston July 3, 1867. She was a resident of Lake county, living in Creston, Lowell, Gary and Crown Point, for her entire lifetime excepting two years spent in Atkinson, Nebraska after her marriage in 1890. Surviving with her son CHANDOS are three granddaughters, MRS. HENRIETTA LESTIKOW of Hobart, MRS. FLORA BELLE BRADLEY of Oakland, California, and MRS. NORINE MCGUAN of East Chicago; three brothers, CHARLES F. PALMER, of Lowell, GRANT of El Segundo, California and JASPER of Hammond; and three great grandchildren. MRS. RAGON'S husband, member of a newspaper family still active in Lowell, was an editor of the Lowell Tribune. His death occurred August 5, 1939, and their son FOREST died September 20, 1949. Gentle and sympathetic in nature, MRS. RAGON was widely loved and admired. Her circle of friendship was widened through affiliation with the auxiliaries of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars here. She was a member of First Christian church. DEAN JACOBY, pastor here, will share 2 o'clock services with REV E. L. WORLEY in Sheets funeral home at Lowell Saturday afternoon.
