Bucco/Booco Cemetery I-69 & Scatterfield Road Anderson, Madison Co.,IN     ---------------------------------------------------------------------                                Bucco Cemetery                                 Registration                                      Of                                 Marked Graved                                      By                   Judy Gulmire, Jane Ritter and Irma Wells                                      For                            Kik-tha-we-nund Chapter                                     NSDAR                               Anderson, Indiana                                     1986 TABLE OF CONTENTS Preface Marked Graves with Information                         1-9 Illegible Markers                                       10 Diagram of Bucco Cemetery                            11,12 Index                                                13,14 PREFACE Bucco (Booco) Cemetery is located in Anderson, Indiana, near the southeastedge of the city.  It is in Section 31, Anderson Township, Madison County, approximately 540 feet west of the 109 By-Pass (Scatterfield Road) and some500 feet south of Interstate-69 underpass.  The Anderson Convention and Tourism building is on the northwest corner and the General Motors Magnequench Building borders the south side of the road that leads west to the cemetery. According to descendants, Isaac Booco purchased the land for Bucco Cemetery while he and his famile still living in Fayette County.  Many of those buried in this cemetery were from inter-related families.  Some had been local farmers. This well-kept, fenced-in, peaceful cemetery, situated on a pleasant knoll amidst several native trees, was overlooked when grave registrations were made of other Madison County cemeteries many year ago.  It was erroneously reported to have been destroyed. October 8th, 10th and 16th, 1985, Jane Ritter and Irma Wells, both past-regents, with Judy Gulmire, present regent of Kik-tha-we-nund Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution, visited Bucco Cemetery and recorded all legible information from existing markers.  Some graves had only remnants of previous markers and others had deteriorated to the point whereby identity of  the deceased was difficult and at times impossible.  Several graves had no markers whatsoever.  Effort was made to record all information that was legible, including misspellings, etc., as accurately as possible. Since the condition of the cemetery made it difficult to determine grave plots, it was deemed advisable to record the markers by rows.  Three markers found near the east fence were lettered AA.  The others were lettered by rows, east to west, alphabetically, A through W.  Numbers were assigned each grave, south to north. Deseased for whom markers were found are listed alphabetically by surnames with the information given.  Clarification will be found in parenthesis.  A question mark denotes a question of accuracy.  The letter and number at the right of each entry refers to the approximate location of each grave on the diagram of the cemetery which follows.  By locating graves, family relationships may sometimes be established. Illegible markers and their approximate locations were listed separately. ADAMS                  EDWARD ADAMS 1892 - 1937 D-5 BEASON      AVES M.
