W. Haggerty, at 162 English Ave., committed suicide Monday by taking arsenic. She was engaged to W. H. Haggard, a Big Four yardman, to whom she left a note saying she hoped that he would get a good wife. She had frequently talked of suicide and only a short while ago told her affianced that she would not remain in the world long. Her sufferings were intense. She had previously, from evidences, attempted suicide by hanging, and a clothes line was found under the mattress of her bed. She formerly lived at Morgantown where her brother and sister now reside. Additional Comments: Note:  The Marion County Indiana WPA Death Index, 1882-1920, referencing Book H-3, page 370, records that Alice Whittaker, a 19 year old white female, died 1 Sep 1890 in Indianapolis.
