Vernon Eugene Martin, born on September 18, 1916 in Gray, Knox County, 
Kentucky to David Radford Martin & Nannette Serena Walters, enlisted into the 
US Navy on July 30, 1935 via Indianapolis, Marion County, Indiana, where he 
had been a student at Arsenal Technical High School.

Vernon Eugene Martin served for 21 years active service, retiring on June 30 
1956 as a Naval war veteran of WWII and the Korean War.

Additional Comments:
Vernon Eugene Martin died January 6, 1985 in Lebanon, Linn County, Oregon. 
Vernon Eugene Martin's cremated remains were buried with his father David 
Radford Martin at the John Dalton Martin Memorial Cemetery, on Arapaho Trail, 
Gray, Knox County, Kentucky.
