She was in the road near the home when the attack came and Mr. Hepler, fortunately, was near and caught her before she fell. He called a physician and later secured a nurse, Miss Bryant, from Fort Wayne. Her right side was paralyzed and her friends have no hopes of her recovery. Plymouth Republican 8 Apr 1920: HEPLER, Bourbon, April 5 - Mrs. Emanuel Hepler died at 9:30 o'clock Sunday evening at her home seven miles northeast of town, following a paralytic stroke some time ago. She is survived by her husband and two sons, Fred and Frank. The funeral will be conducted at 11 o'clock Thursday at Stony Point.
