He was born in France on the 24th day of August 1831, and came to this country at the age of 21. Five years later he was married to Katherine Lollmaugh, who died May 7th, 1907. To this union were born eleven children, one daughter having died in infancy. Those surviving are Peter Richard, Jr.; Mrs. F Horein, Jacob Richard, John Richard, Mrs. J. Widman, Mrs. J. H. Hartman, Andrew Richard, Mrs. J. C. Hoover, all of Plymouth; Mrs. P. F. Scheuer, of Monterey, and Mrs. John Miller, of Germfask, Mich. He also leaves 40 grandchildren and three great grandchildren; also one brother. The funeral services were held at the Catholic church Saturday morning at 10 a.m., with interment in St. Michaels cemetery. The deceased suffered a stroke of paralysis in the early summer from which he never fully recovered.
