Joseph W Castle

Joseph W Castle, aged 49, of 1020 Emerson Avenue, died in the Veteran’s 
Hospital, Marion, Ind. at 1:30 pm Wednesday after an illness of three years. 

Born in Gilead,Indiana. Feb 26, 1896 he spent most of his life here. His wife 
Gladys died in 1942. Surviving are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Castle, 
South Bend; two children, Mrs. Marjorie Nedderman and Mrs. Jacqueline Mello, 
both of South Bend,three grandchildren and one sister Mrs. Beatrice Conger, 
37 Greenlawn Avenue. Friends may call in the Hollis Chapel Friday and until 
funeral services there at 2:30 pm Saturday, burial will be in the St Joseph 
Valley Memorial Park. He was a member of the American legion post no 303.


Additional Comments:
Joseph was born in Gilead, Miami County. His family later moved to Fulton 
County, then South Bend, St Joseph County. All persons mentioned in this 
obituary have passed away.
