Funeral services were conducted Tuesday afternoon from the residence. Rev. A. H. Backus, pastor of the Methodist church officiated. Burial was made in Mount Hope cemetery. The I. O.O.F. lodge had charge of services at the grave. Mr. Chriswell was born Septemer 10, 1866 at SOuth Whitley, Ind, son of Samuel H. and Harriett (Wells) Chriswell. He was married January 30, 1896 in Peru to Gertrude Fox. He had lived in this city for 30 years. He was a member of the I.O.O.F. lodge and United Brotherhood of Maintenance of Way Employees. Surviving are two sons, Edwin C. Chriswell, Rockford, Ill., and Franklin R. Chriswell, at home and a sister, Mrs. Beckwith, South Bend.
