OBITUARY
The Rochester Sentinel

Tuesday, August 9, 1910

The death roll was answered by two prominent farmers when John CARITHERS and 
Josephus NORMAN passed away.

Josephus NORMAN, aged 86 years, died Monday afternoon at 3 o'clock, after an 
illness of two weeks with typhoid fever. Mr. Norman was for years a prominent 
farmer of Perry township, Miami county, residing east of Macy and his death 
has cast a gloom over the vicinity.

Besides a wife he leaves seven children. They are, John NORMAN, Mentone; Miles 
NORMAN, Mt. Zion; Mrs. Cynthia CLELAND, South Bend; Milo NORMAN, Macy; Mrs. 
Sarah
BANKS, Miami county; Mrs. Elizabeth WHITNEY, Peru; Mrs. Rosa CASTLE, Rochester.

The funeral services will be held Wednesday morning at 10:30 o'clock at the 
residence. Burial will be made in Shumaker's cemetery north of Gilead. 

Additional Comments:
Joseph Norman and other family members are buried in the Plainview Cemetery, 
Miami County. Section 3 Row 5 as well as other plots.
