The Franklin Democrat, Friday, August 3, 1900, Volume XLI, Number 5, page 1, column 4
Maud Percifield, the seventeen year old daughter of Blevin Percifield, living eleven
miles west of Nashville, 
committed suicide Monday by hanging.  Desponding over a love affair said to have
been the cause.
