Elijah Bradley died at his late home in Green township, Morgan County, Oct. 10, 1898. He was born in Larne [sic] County Ky., Feb. 13, 1829, and came to Indiana when about 17 years of age, and has been a resident ever since. He was married to Margaret Taggart Feb. 10, 1852. His death was a great shock to his friends and neighbors, as but a few hours previous to his death he chopped a load of wood and hauled it to the house. He was a member of the Methodist Protestant church at Bethel, where he loved to go so well. He was a Master Mason, and his brother Masons accompanied his remains to their last resting place. He leaves a wife, seven children and twenty-seven grandchildren, who mourn his departure. He was a good man; a Christian in every sense of the word. He will be greatly missed both by his family and friends. He was loved by all who knew him. His age was 69 years, 7 months and 28 days. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. B. Ensminger, assisted by Rev. J. Gillaspy, at the Union M. P. church, and the body was laid to rest in the beautiful cemetery nearby to await the resurrection morn. OMA BAKER.
