The Franklin Democrat, Friday, March 7, 1890
MORGANTOWN

Sam Gorley [sic] died on Monday evening of consumption.  He lived 3 miles south of
town.  He had 
been poorly for some time, but not expected to die so soon.  He died in his chair
and had been 
talking to Mr. Mullendore, when he bent back and died instantly.  Mr. Gorley [sic]
was a young man 
not married and was well respected by all who knew him.  The funeral was held at
Unity church on 
Wednesday.
