Hugh Mason, wife and daughter of Indianapolis, attended the funeral of M. T. Hancock here Sunday. Everyone was shocked to hear of the sudden death of M. T. Hancock. He was taking treatment at Stearn’s private hospital at Indianapolis, and died Friday at 6 p.m. His remains were brought here for burial Saturday. Mr. Hancock had been in the drug business for the past nineteen years and was a careful, honest business man. Some six weeks ago his actions were noticed by many and a sanity inquest was held and it was found that he was mentally afflicted. It was decided to take him to a private hospital, where he became worse and died. He left a will bequeathing $500 to Racie Anderson and the rest of the $14,000 to his only son, Hubert. Deceased was 54 years of age. Funeral services were held at the residence in charge of the Free Mason lodge. Interment Sunday evening in the family lot at East Hill cemetery.
