KENDALLVILLE.
The city of Kendallville is situated in Noble county, on the Michigan Southern &
Northern Indiana railroad, ninety-one miles from Toledo and one hundred and
forty-two from Chicago. It has a population of about 3,000. The country is rich
and settled up with wealthy and enterprising fanners. Large quantities of grain
and produce are shipped from here annually. It has some fine business houses,
two banks, two papers, one foundry, two hub and spoke factories, a large
bedstead factory, and several shops of different kinds. There are eight
churches, good graded schools, etc. The high state of morality and the
enterprise of the citizens are fast building up the place.
