GREEN HILL CEMETERY Taken from DAR records Transcribed by Karen Hugo Orleans Township Sec. 30-T 2 N-R 1 E. Used occasionally. Located in west section of Orleans, the old town cemetery was laid off when Orleans wa founded in 1815, when Orange County was a part of Washington County and Indiana was yet a territory. There are a number of unmarked graves, and many inscriptions are too worn to decipher. The first burial was that of a German settler, Frederick Fesperman, who died in 1816. The cemetery is well kept, under the auspices of the Village Improvement Society. ALBERTSON, Isaac N.; 6 Nov 1826-21 Jul 1854. ALLEN, Albert T.; 19 Dec 1878, age 67y/2m/4d.
