PARKE COUNTY, INDIANA Record of Deeds This Indenture made this first day of February in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty seven between Henry Sanders and Rachel Sanders his wife of the county of Parke and state of Indiana, of the first part and Jacob Hines of the county and State aforesaid of the second part Witnesseth that the said party of the first part for and in consideration of the sum of fifteen dollars to them in hand paid, the receipt whereof is acknowledged, do hereby give, grant, bargain, sell, and convey unto the said party of the second part, his heirs and assigns forever, all that certain tract or parcel of land situated in Union Township Parke County Indiana towit commencing at the south east corner of the west half of the North west quarter of section twenty eight, in Township fifteen north of range six west, thence north forty poles, with the line dividing the west half and the east half of the North west quarter of section twenty eight Township fifteen north of range six west thence west forty poles thence south forty poles to the line dividing the north west quarter and the south west quarter of section twenty eight in township fifteen north of range six west, thence forty poles east with said line to the place of beginning. Estimated to contain ten acres - to have and to hold the said granted and bargained premises together with all the privileges and appurtenances thereof, unto the said party of the second part, his heirs and assigns forever; and the said party of the first part for their heirs executors and administrators doth covenant with the said party of the second part, his heirs and assigns that they are lawfully seized of the premises above conveyed, and that they are free from all incumbrances, and the above bargained premises, in the quiet and peaceable possession of the said party of the second part, his heirs and assigns against the lawful claims and demands of all persons the said party of the first part, and their heirs will forever Warrant and defend. In witness whereof the said party of the first part have hereunto set their hands and seals the day and year above written. signed, sealed and delivered in Henry Saunders (LS) presence of George Hansel Rachel X Saunders (LS) Samuel Callaway State of Indiana Parke County S.S. Be it remembered that on this day towit the first day of February A.D. 1837. Before me the subscriber an acting justice of the peace in and for said county, personally came Henry Saunders and Rachel his wife the grantors named in the foregoing deed of conveyance, and severally acknowledged the signing and sealing said (deed) to be their act and deed for the uses and purposes therein contained and Rachel Sanders wife of the said Henry Sanders being by me first examined separate and apart from her said husband acknowledged that she signed and sealed said deed as her own voluntary act, without any compulsion or coercion from her said husband.
