"DANVILLE BRANCH, NATIONAL HOME FOR DISABLED VOLUNTEER SOLDIERS.  National Home,
Danville, Ill. Aug. 24, 1906.  To The United States Pension Agent: Chicago, Ill. 
Charles Bent, Received Aug. 27, 1906 U.S. Pension Agent, Chicago, Ill.  Sir: In
accordance with instructions of the President of the Board of Managers, National
Home for D.V.S., I have the honor to transmit herewith Pension Certificate No.
698.596, of William H. Elkins deceased, late of I Co., 149 Reg't., Indiana Inf., who
died at Crawfordsville, Indiana on the 22 day of August, 1906.  Cause of death
unknown, Social condition Widower.  the name, address and degree of relationship of
his next of kin, so far as indicated by the records of his Home, are as follows:
Mrs. John W. Gailey, daughter, Crawfordsville, Ind.  Very respectfully, MJ Barger,
Governor." 

Additional Comments:
Note: Death Certificate states: Arteriosclerosis as primary cause of death.  The
daughter listed is from his second marriage.
