Frank Elkins, who was a victim of paralysis for the past three years, died of Apoplexy, Thursday evening. He was taken to Russellville for burial, after funeral services conducted by Rev. Atcheson at the M.E. Church Saturday at 11: am. Rockville, Indiana Republican Newspaper (microfilm), Same as above from Tribune - Added: Relatives from Russellville, Crawfordsville, Bloomingdale, and Mecca attended funeral." Additional Comments: "Franklin Asbury Elkins, son of William H. & Margaret (Cavender) Elkins, and a direct descendent of the first pioneer settlers in Jackson/Brown Counties, Indiana. Franklin was born August 26, 1855 (death cert.) in Indiana (probably near Cortland). He was with his family in the 1860 census in Jackson Co., IN. In 1870, he was still with his family only in Putman Co., IN. near the Waveland area. In the early 1880's he must have returned to Jackson Co., IN.; There he married his first wife, Mollie H. Robertson on September 20, 1882 (marriage record). They had four children: Howard Marshall Elkins, Lelia Isabelle Elkins, Ida Leoda Elkins, and Earl Elkins." per source, Joyce L. Elkins. They had four children: Raymond Lee Elkins, Samuel Clarence Elkins, Harold Layton Elkins, and Nellie Louetta Elkins.
