ELKINS Judson-- Gladys E. Elkins, 82, Judson, died at 9:12 p.m. Thursday (21 Nov 1985)in Vermillion County Hospital, Clinton, of natural causes. She was a housewife. She was born Sept. 11, 1903, in Cates to John Farner and Margaret Rector Farner. Her husband Samuel, died in May 1967. Survivors include four daughters, Vera Paddock, Newman, Ill., Evelyn Lunog, Blue Mound, Ill., and Helen Wall and Doris Walter, both of Judson; seven sons, Joseph, Montezuma, Orville, Pennington Gap, Va., James, Eugene, Kenneth, Sullivan, and Paul, Ronald and Donald, all of South Bend; 35 grandchildren, 47 great- grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren. She was a member of Montezuma Christian Church. Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday in Barnes Mortuary, Rockville, with the Rev. Joe Cook officiating. Burial is in Wolf Creek Cemetery. Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday." Gladys married Samuel Clarence Elkins (obit. is also posted)whose family is part of the earliest pioneers to Jackson and Brown Counties, Indiana.
