Winamac-Democrat-Journal, 27 Feb 1903
Thursday occurred the death of Mrs. Benedict Smith; caused from pneumonia.  
The funeral was held Monday from St. Ann's Catholic church.  The services were 
conducted by Rev. Father Joseph Bilstein.  Interment in the Catholic cemetery 
west of town.  Those who attended the funeral of Mrs. Smith from a distance 
were: Her two sons, Henry Smith from Iowa and Mike Smith of Ohio, Mr. Joseph 
Keitzer of Hammond and Mr. Joseph Smith of Ohio.
