This is a head of household index that also includes: persons whose
surnames are different than the head of household, all unmarried
children age 18 and older, and people you'd expect
to find living in their own household (e.g. parents living in their
married children's households, or a child living with their
grandparents). For birthplaces within the U.S., I used
the two-letter postal abbreviation. All other birthplaces, including
those from other countries,are copied here exactly as they appear on
the census.

** indicates a letter/letters that were hard to read
?? indicates where a word was completely illegible
unk. indicates unknown
[blank] indicates the column was not filled out

This is only one person's interpretation of the handwriting--always
refer to the actual census microfilm.

NOTE: The first section of the Greencastle enumeration was especially
hard to read.
