Allen”   In the name of God Amen I Eliza M. Allen of Putnam County in the State of Indiana being of sound mind and memory and considering the uncertainty of this frail and transitory life do therefore make ordain publish and declare this to be my last will and testa= ment that is to say I will that I shall have a decent and respectable burial and all my just debts including my burial, doctor bills, and expenses incurred by my last sickness shall be paid. Item 2nd I will that the farm owned by me (Bought with money from my Father’s estate) to wit: fifty-five acres lying in the north part of the west half of the south east quarter of section twenty three in township no. fifteen north of range no. four west, also the residence at which I live in the town of Bainbridge in said County (Being Lot No 106 in the southern en= largement of said town together with all the pers= onal property that I may [have] seized with (in= cluding the eleven hundred dollars now loaned to John & Alvin Hanks) all taken together and divided as follows to wit: to the children of my daughter Emma J Anderson deceased, one sixth part, To the children of my daughter Amanda M. Roberts (deceased) one sixth part. To the children of my daughter Lucretia Priest deceased one sixth part and to my son Alvin B. Hanks, the executors of this my last will. Randel]        The above written instrument was subscribed by the said Eliza M. Allen and acknowledged by her to each of us and she at the same time published and declared the above Page337 instrument so subscribed to be her last will and tes= tament and we at the textators request and in her presence have signed our name as witnesses hereto and written opposite our names or respective places of residence This September the 10” 1888. Witness  William H. Singleton W M Hurt {Both Bainbridge Po} State of Indiana} Putnam County} ss. Before me Daniel T Darnall Clerk of the Putnam Circuit Court personally came William H. Singleton one of the subscribing, wit= nesses to the foregoing last will and testament of Eliza M. Allen late of Putnam County Indiana deceased, and being duly sworn on oath says that he was present at the execution of said last will: that the same was duly executed: that at the time of the execution thereof, said testatrix was of full age to devise her property, of sound mind and memory and not under any coercion or restraint: that said testatrix requested affiant and W. M. Hurt to sign said will as witnesses thereto which they accordingly did in the presence of said testatrix and in the presence of each other as subscribing witnesses thereto. W. H. Allen late of Putnam County State of Indiana, deceased, was this day duly admitted to probate and records and the proof thereof duly made by Wm H. Singleton one subscribing witnesses thereto which said will together with such proof, have been duly recorded in Record of will No. 3 page 336 in this office.
