Item 1. I will and direct that all my debts legal liabilities and liabilities of my estate, shall be paid as soon after my decease as practicable. 2. I give and bequeath to my daughter Martha Torr the sum of our hundred and fifty dollars in money. I also give to my daughter Martha the wash stand my big arm chair the Lamp that belonged to my so Henry in his life my large press and best stand table. The wash bowl and pitcher: 3. I give and bequeath to my daughter Eva my Organ and Organ stool, the rocking chair and wardrobe that she had while in college, my best bedstead, the pictures that her Father and I bought in Indianapolis my largest looking glass, and the looking glass in the north room my wash bowl and pitcher, other than the one given by this Will to Martha. Also the Rocking chair given me by my son Joseph: also my large turkey dish. 4. All my dishes and table ware not herein specifically be= queathed. I will to my two daughters Martha and Eva to be equally divided between them, they to make such division, with a sisterly regard for each other. I also will and give to Martha my parlor table or my set of cane seated chairs, as she may choose, if she takes the table, Eva is to have the chairs, and if Martha takes the chairs. Eva shall have the table. 5. All my bed clothes and bedding not herein specifically bequeathed with all my loose property not herein otherwise disposed of. I give to all my children from the oldest to the youngest inclusive to be equally divided among them such division to be made by sales if it cannot be made otherwise to the mutual satisfaction of all my said children. I will and direct that Woodford Pierce should he survive me, shall be paid out of my Estate after all my the foregoing bequests are paid in full, the sum of Eight Hundred dollars to compensate him for losses incurred by a loan to my husband James Torr deceased But the bequest shall have no impact until the full year after my decease and if I shall survive [said] Pierce Page 253 this bequest to him shall lapse and become wholly void. I will and bequeath that each of my daughters Sarah J Layman and Eva D. Torr have duly of my estate the sum of Fifty dollars before distribution as hereinafter provided, and I direct that my executor shall pay to each of them said sum: My Daughter Martha has received Two Hundred and Eighty seven dollars and Twenty five cents: My daughter Sarah J Layman has received Two Hundred and seventy four dollars and seventy three cents: My son James has received one Hundred and twenty eight dollars and forty four cents: My son Joseph has received one hundred and thirty Eight dollars and fifty nine cents: My daughter Eva has received Two hundred and Eighty two dollars and forty four cents: I therefore Will and direct that all the residue of my property after paying each of the foregoing bequests in full, shall be divided among my daughter in law Josephine Torr wife of my son Joseph, and my daughter in law Helen Torr wife of my son James: That the shares of each of my daughters in law charging them with the amounts received by them as aforesaid, and the shares of each of my said daughter in law charging them each with the said amount received by her husband as above stated shall be equal. I will and direct that the above bequest of one hundred and fifty dollars to my daughter Martha, and of fifty dollars to each of my daughters Sarah J and Eva Shall be paid out of my real Estate. I appoint my friend Peter S. Stover son in law of Christian Landes, Executor of this my last will. In witness whereof I have hereto set my hand this 29” day of May 1888: Leah Torr.    Signed and acknowledged by said Testatrix as her last Will in our presence and signed by us as witness at her request in the presence of each other. This 29 th day of May 1888: Marshal A. Moore, G.E. Moore. (Proof) State of Indiana Putnam County} SS. Before me Daniel F. Darnall, Clerk of the Putnam Circuit Court, personally came. Granville C. Moore one of the sub= scribing witnesses to the forgoing last will and Testament of Leah Torr late of Putnam County Indiana deceased and being duly sworn on oath say that he was present at the execution of said last Will and Testament of Page 254 That the same was duly executed that at the time of the executor thereof said Testatrix was of full age to devise her property of sound mind and memory, and not under any co= ercion or restraint, that said Testatrix requested affiant and Marshall A. Moore to sign said Will as witnesses thereto which they accordingly did in the presence of said testatrix and in the presence of each other as subscribing Witnesses thereto Subscribed and sworn to before me this 11” day of December 1893   Daniel F. Darnall Clk State of Indiana, Putnam County} ss.    I, Daniel T Darnall clerk of the Putnam Circuit Court, do hereby certify that the above and foregoing last will and Testament of Leah Torr, late of Putnam County, State of Indiana deceased was this day admitted to probate and Record and the proof thereof duly made by Granville C. Moore one of the subscribing witnesses thereto which said will, Together with such proof, have been duly recorded in Record of Wills No 3 pages 252-253, 254 in this office.
