WINCHESTER.

The county seat of Randolph county, on the Bellefontaine railroad, seventy-five
miles from Indianapolis and sixty-seven from Bellefontaine. It is in the midst
of a fine wheat and grazing country, with abundance of heavy timbered land. It
has several fine churches, good graded schools, several manufacturing
establishments, stores, shops, &c. It is laid out with a view to comfort and
beauty, and contains several fine residences. Population about 1200.
