Randolph County Indiana Died DARRAH---May 22, 1880, William Wood Darrah. Deceased was born in Bedford County, Penn., May 22, 1810, and was consequently, on the day of his death, 70 years of age. In 1837 he left the scenes of his childhood and youth to try his fortune in the then far west. He settled at New Paris, Ohio where, on the 15th of July 1840, he was united in marriage to Miss Melissa Graham of that place, who survives him to mourn the loss of an affectionate husband for herself, and a kind father for her children. The fruit of this marriage was seven children, four sons and three daughters, two of which have gone before. The surviving ones are all married, except one son. Mr. Darrah was a resident of this county from 1846 to 1855 when he removed with his family to Illinois, where he has resided ever since. He had been temporarily stopping here with his son Joseph and anticipated returning home soon, when the messenger came and he was called to a higher and better sphere. The remains were taken to his home at Chatsworth, Livingston County, Ill for interment. T.W.D. Transcriber's notes: [This obituary is from a photocopy of the original.
