VERSAILLES.

The county seat of Ripley county, five miles from Osgood, on the Ohio &
Mississippi railroad, and fifty from Cincinnati. It has been contending with
many difficulties, owing to the fact of its being cut off from the railroad. But
since the erection of the court house it has regained much of its former vigor
and prosperity. It has several good business houses, manufactories, shops, &c.
Population about 600.
